Thursday Night Chard.
January 30, 2009 by Neil

Thursday night already… Where did the week go? I opened up a nice bottle of Chardonnay last night that hit the spot and didn’t break the bank…
It was the 2006 Rued Russian River Valley Chardonnay; a great little wine and it only set me back ten bucks!
I could smell apples and pears as I brought the glass to my nose, and the apple flavors continued on my palette, along with a little lemon and vanilla oak and a nice finish. Unlike some California Chardonnay, the oak is definitely subtle and balanced. A very enjoyable glass of Sonoma County wine that I used to wash down my salmon skin roll. Great for Thursday or any day of the week.
