A Quick Taste Of Cotes Du Rhone

I opened up this little French gem the other night.  If you can find it, it’s hard to beat for fifteen bucks. From Cotes Du Rhone, it’s the 2006 Domaine Les Grands Bois “Les Trois Soeursâ” cuvee.  A deep, purple color with a nice, smokey nose that gives way to a lean mouthful of berry flavors and dark fruit.  This would make a good food wine, though I drank it all by itself. Admittedly, I need to get into more old world wines.  I guess that can be my official new years resolution;  one that I think I can stick with!    Cheers…
