Wine for a Rainy Night... 892415 83x300

Not that I need an excuse to open a bottle of wine, but there’s something about a rainy night in Los Angeles that makes me want to curl up and have a nice glass of wine as I look out the window and crank up the heat. Now in this case, I was ‘curled up’ to my keyboard and mouse, typing a blog and shopping on Ebay (don’t ask). But the wine was a hit, and I drank a couple glasses before putting the Mac to sleep; all the while the rain pelting the windows…

The wine was a 2006 Le Baron Ranch School Car Petite Syrah. The dark, purple color was a nice fit with the stormy sky outside. The nose was filled with dark cherry and fruit, and the cherry continued as the wine swirled through my mouth, with a layer of chocolate and some nice tannins. It was a pleasing glass of wine indeed, and all this for under 20 bucks.

As I type this on Wednesday afternoon, I’m looking out at another rainy day. It might be time for another bottle tonight…
