New Webisode, New Feature: Weekday Wine Review- Atteca Spanish Red And Spanish Wine Blog Contest

We’ve been reviewing wines here at WineExpedition since the beginning. Whenever and wherever we’ve had a glass, we’ve made it a point to have a laptop or Iphone handy to jot down notes in order to blog about it later. Now we’re bringing the cameras too, and as a result, we’re excited to introduce a new type of webisode: Weekday Wine Reviews.
Whenever and wherever we taste, we’ll attempt to document it in video and will post the reviews throughout the week. Our first review is the 2007 Atteca from Spain. And this Spanish review coincides with our entry in the Catavino Spanish Wine Education contest for wine bloggers.

The winners of this contest will attend a 3-day course put on by Catavino and the Wine Academy of Spain, and if we win, we’d be off to San Diego (or San Francisco) to immerse ourselves in Spanish Wine. All the folks at Catavino wanto to know is: why do we want to learn more about Spanish wine?

WineExpedition was born from two friends’ shared passion for wine; and the ‘discovery’ aspect of wine- the adventure in uncovering something new and different with each bottle we open- is the driving force behind WineExpedition.
Our adventure began, naturally, in our own backyards. As Californians, trips to Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles and Santa Barbara are easily arranged, and so our wine experience started with wines from these regions. The wines we tasted, the people we met, the landscape we took in- it all fueled our passion, and we began to look beyond California, and we discovered wines from France, Italy, Australia and so on. Recently, one of the regions that we’ve been focusing on is Spain. Why? Spanish wines represented uncharted territory; the opportunity to discover new wines is once again a driving force behind WineExpedition. Additionally, Spanish wines are proving to be GREAT WINE VALUES!
So, simply put, we want to learn more about Spanish wine because we have a thirst (pardon the pun), for discovery, and we’ve only scratched the surface in our experiences with Spanish wine. And of course, every time we make a new discovery, we share it with the world. We’ll fuel our passion for Spanish wine… and we’ll pass it on!
In the mean time, we popped the cork on the 2007 Atteca and are having a glass right now. A fantastic discovery and a very attractive price. Check out the webisode below for our review, and check back daily as we’ll be posting a lot more webisodes going forward, including the Weekday Wine Reviews.
