A quick review for a Saturday morning- a tasty little Australian Shiraz that found it’s way into my glass…

Sometimes Shiraz can be a bit peppery and/or one dimensional, but that was not the case here.   The 2005 Hazyblur Adelaide Plains Shiraz is a tasty wine- a nice dark purple shade, with a nose of blackberries.  It’s a fruit forward wine:  tastes like a blueberry pie (and we’ve talked about how I love that in a Petite Sirah).  The oak is there for sure, giving it a creamy, caramel-y undertone, but it’s balanced and good.  It’s a rich, full wine; a lot going on in my mouth.  I didn’t have any food with this wine, and honestly that was all right; this one is drinkable all by itself.
