Half A Glass Too Many? Not Me, I’m Just An Innocent Bystander.

I was driving into the office today, struggling to get the temperature in my car right. Just when I got the heat going enough to keep my feet warm, I started to feel like I was suffocating, so I let the cool air in. Almost immediately my feet were cold.
Just one of those mornings I guess, my feet are cold, my head is fuzzy and one cup of coffee isn’t enough. I think I had maybe a half a glass too many last night…
But in this case it was worth it. I found a FANTASTIC WINE VALUE; a Pinot Noir from Australia called Innocent Bystander. This was the 2008 vintage and it was 15 bucks!
I’ve said it before, I’m wary of a bottle of Pinot that’s less then $25. It’s a wine that is tough to make cheaply. This is one of a few examples I’ve had that succeed at greatness at this price point (the Cono Sur from Chile was another recent discovery).
Innocent Bystander is all good. A great nose of cherries and raspberries tipped me off that I might be on to something… and then the bright, juicy palate hit me… lots of berries… full and tangy with soft tannins and a nice finish.
What can I say? It was too good not to go back for another glass and a half… So today I move a little slower; such is life.
