Tool Wine: The Movie

As you read this, the cameras are rolling on Tool/Puscifer front man Maynard James Keenan and his vineyard partner Eric Glomski for a documentary titled: “Blood Into Wine.” The film shares the story of and their quest to bring the wine industry to Arizona’s Verde Valley.
We’ve blogged in the past about Maynard’s Caduceus Cellars and the Arizona Stronghold Vineyards in which he and Glomski are partners. The two have been traveling to Whole Foods markets around the country to promote the wines and sign autographs. The latest leg of that tour has taken them through Florida, and you can read more about it here, courtesy of the Miami New Times.
Add ‘making wine’ to the calendar that’s already filled with the tour and the documentary and it’s a sure bet these two have NO spare time.

The film is being co-directed by Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke (the filmmakers behind critically acclaimed documentaries Moog and The Heart Is A Drum Machine). It will finish shooting in September and will have a limited theatrical release in February and March 2010.
We’re told that “Blood Into Wine” gives unprecedented insight into Keenan’s world and his motivations for taking on the arduous task of bringing wine making to the region’s unforgiving landscape and how wine making fits into Keenan’s creative trajectory. An accompanying soundtrack with original material from Keenan will accompany the release of the documentary.

I look forward to checking this out and hope I have a glass of the Caduceus Nagual de la Naga in my hand when I do. See the trailer below.
i can’t wait to see this one!
