Oscar Diet-Wine.
…a little bit of Wine/Entertainment news here that had me raising my eyebrows… Those of you that enjoy a movie with your wine probably know that the Oscars are this Sunday. But did you know that all the VIP’s in attendance will be getting a bottle of wine in their gift bags? And it’s not just any wine…
Each one of those coveted bags will contain three bottles of wine the from the Chateau Thomas winery in Indiana: Owned by Dr. Charles Thomas, a retired physician, the winery claims to produce ‘the world’s first naturally-sweetened wine’, Slender.
Let me be clear: this wine has no sugar, no fat, no carbs (and according to the winery, no aftertaste). It’s touted as the perfect solution for wine lovers that can’t have sugar. All three Slender varieties will be included in the bags: Slender White (Viogner and French Columbard), Slender Red (Ruby Cabernet) and Slender Blush (Ruby Cabernet and Chenin Blanc).
I have to admit, I’m a bit skeptical, and since I won’t be in attendance this Sunday, I’ll have to wait till I stumble upon a bottle to give it a taste. If anyone had tried this wine, please comment and let us know what you think…!
