Cabernet From The Vineyards In Los Angeles?

Well okay, maybe not the city of Los Angeles, but Los Angeles County… Specifically, the northern inland part of Los Angeles County: Agua Dulce, Acton, Antelope Valley, Tehachapi and Leona Valley.
In fact, several small wineries call LA county home, including the Leona Valley Winery.
This family-owned winery produces award winning cult wines and their vineyards are planted with syrah, chardonnay, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, malbec and petite verdot grapes. I have to say I’m intrigued. As an LA native, I had no idea there were vineyards so close. So convenient it could be dangerous… I have a feeling I’ll be making an excuse to put LEONA VALLEY into my GPS sooner than later…
